SOLAR ENERGY'S BFF?
Before revealing such a secret friend, I will share a very rewarding experience of mine.
In October 2016 was held FENATEL Fair of the Technical School of Electronics of Ipaussu, in southwest Paulista. School where I graduated in electronics in December 2002.
The fair honored Nikola Tesla, presented some applications of photovoltaic solar energy as trackers developed by the school's own students, water pumping and LED lighting.
Particularly, I find the involvement of the electronics school with solar energy very interesting, since the development of the technology is not only in the construction and development of the photovoltaic modules (or solar panels) but in how the energy coming from the modules is treated. The transformation of the energy that comes from the Sun to the desired application with minimum losses is the pure ELECTRONICS.
Coming back to Fenatel 2016, my job was to generate power for schoolyard lighting. HOW DID WE DO IT? With solar energy and its best friend: LED.
Why? Because LED bulbs (which are also an electronic thing) is a clear example of technological development; Have longer lifetimes and consume far less energy than previous bulbs. In other words, if the lamps are replaced with LEDs, the necessary photovoltaic solar system is also reduced, making the system more affordable. That's why I’m used to saying that LED is the best friend of solar energy FOREVER. Just like salt and black pepper. =)
Still about Fenatel 2016, as the main goal was to use solar energy at night and there was rain forecast for the event, we defined the best location for the system and we installed the system three days in advance in order to store energy in the batteries. We really had a two-day event with lots of rain but the patio was lit SUCCESSFULLY.
I would like to thank the friends who have given a force to this project whether they are present or not. Especially I would like to thank two friends who contributed directly to this successful experience: Dalton Theodoro and Mayor Serginho. Thank you very much for the strength and especially for the trust on my work, gentlemen.
Any technical questions about the system, the installation, how can you have solar energy at home, in the office, budgets? Feel free to ask.
Thanks for reading!
